HKU-Shenzhen Hospital

The University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital (HKU-SZH) is a prominent comprehensive public hospital established by the Shenzhen municipal government in collaboration with HKU. HKU-SZH spans a total floor area of 367,000 square meters on a 192,000 square meter plot. Currently operating with 2000 beds, HKU-SZH is undergoing a second-phase expansion project to increase its capacity to 3000 beds in alignment with government directives.

Since its inauguration on July 1, 2012, HKU-SZH has progressively incorporated advanced hospital management practices and internationally recognized medical technologies to provide high-quality healthcare services to the public. Capitalizing on the collaborative opportunities between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, the hospital has harnessed the University of Hong Kong’s renowned clinical expertise to establish Centers of Excellence in areas such as Cardiovascular Diseases, Neuromedicine, Oncology, Orthopedics, Reproductive Medicine, and Prenatal Diagnosis. Additionally, an International Medical Center has been established to offer advanced medical services and health assessments at international standards. The Huawei Li Zhi Yuan Community Health Center caters to the diverse healthcare needs of local residents, Hong Kong citizens, and expatriates.

HKU-SZH achieved The Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) accreditation in September 2015 and National 3A Hospital Accreditation in November 2017. In June 2018, it was selected as one of the “High Level - Summit Program” hospitals in Guangdong Province. As part of this programme, HKU-SZH is establishing four international centers for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay area, focusing on medical services, talent training, scientific innovation, and hospital management. Recognized as a pioneer hospital for high-quality development and modern hospital management, HKU-SZH continues to drive innovation and quality improvement in public healthcare.
