University Alliances

HKU has been actively expanding its Mainland network through university alliances. The alliances aim to leverage the strengths and resources of member universities in Mainland, Macao, and Hong Kong across various aspects, including teaching and learning, research, and talent nurturing.

With support from the Ministry of Education and the Education Bureau of the HKSAR Government, HKU is a founding member of major alliances, such as the Shanghai-Hong Kong University Alliance (SHUA), the Beijing-Hong Kong University Alliance (BHUA), the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance (GHMUA), and the Jiangsu-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance (JHMUA), to enhance academic collaboration and student mobility among leading institutions.

The comprehensive network of the alliances serves as a foundation for fostering university partnerships and exchange initiatives across Mainland.
